Psalms 2 & 83 - prophecies

Psalm 2

  • Symbol for Jerusalem is lion and olive branch (peace)
  • UN - views Jerusalem as a nationalist city-owned by now one. West is occupied by Israel. Eat by Arabs.
  • Est. 1948.
  • 1949. Israel declared eternal capital.
  • Trump declared capital of Israel this week...prophecy
  • 1995 US Congress declared Jer. as capital. Reaffirmed unanimously in 2017.
  • V1-6 - God speaking
  • V7-9 - God talking about Jesus
  • V9-12  - God talking to nations

Psalm 83 -

  • Bible students today are seeing a prophetic decree that might be occurring today.
  • Elohim Psalms
  • Asaph (wrote about 11? Psalms) and a prophet
  • V1-4 -Israel's neighbors conspiring against them
  • Tents of Edom today-Palestinians of southern Jordan today
  • Tyre -  people are hesbolah
  • Tyre also SE of Israel
  • Sisera - king killed by women who gave him milk. Overflowing of river wiped out army...divine intervention as is normally dry.
Where does this fit in? Something has to take place to compel Israel to build their temple without retribution.

Zechariah 13

Think 17 - The Reformation

Galatians 2:15-21

Galatians 3:1-9

Galatians had no commendations and no prayer requests.
Galatians from Gaul?
Battle in your mind, Romans 12:2   transform your mind. Hebrew 12 - run your race with irreverence with eyes fixed on Jesus. "Faint" is in the mind.yt? Is a battle of the mind.

Galatians 3

Galatians 5

Entanglements - pride - yeast - that which puffs up. Solution is Christ

V5 - "fallen from Grace means you are letting go, loosening your grip, of your Grace. God is not letting you go, you are loosening your grip. God never lets go, though.

Note: We make choices. We get to make choices because we are created in God's image. God also has free will, so He would never take free will from us.

Two "patience" in scripture: long suffering with other people and long suffering on this earth, which provides fruit of the Spirit, until heaven.

Galations 6

Galatians 6
About the Spirit. Ch5 - how to walk with the Spirit.
V6- share is coinania - fellowship with the teacher and tell them what you are learning
V9 pronouns change from you to us
V10-for each one should carry their own load. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Galatians 6:5‭, ‬10 NIV
http://bible.com/111/gal.6.5-10.NIV
V11-large letters could mean he can't see God or that he is speaking boldly with bold letters...
V12-summarizing why he is writing
for each one should carry their own load. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Galatians 6:5‭, ‬10 NIV
http://bible.com/111/gal.6.5-10.NIV

V13-16-Don't follow everyone else's rules, follow Christ.

Strive to please God because we love to please God.

Hardship as Discipline - Hebrews 12:1-11

Genesis 1 - Man made in God's Image

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Job 26 - the greatness of God.
And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”

Malachi 3-4

  • Malachi means my messenger
  • Message is return to the Lord
  • Last book of OT before coming of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ
  • Minor prophet
  • It is not about tithing - it is about the heart
  • Talked about bad leadership of the priests
  • Historically, Israel was rrestored tho the land from Babylon. They were rebuilding the temple and the walls. They have reconstituted sacrifices and worship, but are losing perspective and focus spiritually
  • Behold - means look at this...it is a word of vision
  • Messenger is 3:1 is John the Baptist.
  • Next Messenger is referring to Jesus Christ
  • 4:5 - refers to Elijah. Then John the Baptist, then Jesus Christ, then Elijah comes back before Jesus Christ return.

Ephesians 4

Ephesians 4

The message is always the same...As a Christian, the Lord is on my side! Not when I do wrong, but whether I do wrong or not. Whatever your day looks like…His loving arms are around you/me!
V1-5 - bare your burdens and everyone else's
V6 share - coinania -
V11-16 - unity - how do all the programs connect at church and what do people do once they become Christians?
How do we create a culture of passionate followers of Jesus? The Lord said make disciples.

The church is not an audience...it is an army. Instead of "did you have fun at church today", ask, "who did you serve today?"  What did you learn about someone else today? How did you help the church today?

"until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13 NIV"

Where are you at in your passions?
People
Purpose
Prevention-v14, he warns about immaturity (act differently in different settings), instability (right church culture helps you with that-if you belong to that church body), ignorance - get off track by mockers at work or what appears to be pleasures others enjoy that you as a Christian don't. Then attend church and sing together about God and Jesus...have support. At church you are reassured, reminded of what you believe, reunited. Church prevents immaturity, instability, and ignorance.

If you are going down the wrong path, who in the church (everyone who is the image of Christ) do you know who can help you get back on track?

Where are your passions focused? Who are they focused on? You or Christ?

Zechariah - conclusion

Compare Revelation 2-4, the seven churches, with the 7 parables in Matthew. Timeline becomes apparent. Are the churche's a timeline? Are we in the Laodacia church stage?

Zechariah 11

Diaspora- dispersion?
Daniel predicted exact day Christ would come
Episcopal- episode Scopus - look closely
Zech 9 shows Christ is hidden from Jews until "fullness" of gentiles...not times of gentle which is bad time
